606,000 PEOPLE OVERSTAYED THEIR US VISAS IN 2017
The US Department of Homeland Security recently released the figure, that 606,000 individuals overstayed their US visa throughout 2017. This is a huge number, however it is actually 130 thousand less than in 2016. It's arguably an improvement, but is still not acceptable.
When you travel to the US make sure you check the date when you need to leave. They have always been hot on any overstays but have recently been even keener to keep the numbers down.
The date should be on your entry stamp but best to check your I 94, https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/#/home. This date is not always the same as your visa, if you are on a visa, expiry date.
